Dr Vincent Braniff M.B.,B.S. (Adel), B.A. (Syd) has 20 years of experience as a medical doctor, including emergency & surgical training, military special forces, international work in developing and post-conflict settings, and support to the energy and resources sector.

Since 2003 he has also been developing business in international trade, initially in food and wine, and since 2006 he has worked closely with European companies, medical specialists, and partners in medical device distribution throughout Asia, and international medical tourism for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. In 2009 he began working with Alex Lorenz, based in Hong Kong, in the Asian medical device distribution, and the exploration of further business development opportunities. In 2011 they established PlusComms with their Sydney based partners experienced in the communications and technology innovation sectors.

He is based in Sydney as the resident Honorary Medical Officer and Tutor at St Paul’s College, Sydney University. This is Australia’s oldest and one of its most prestigious academic institutions, where he plays a mentoring role while also undertaking part time post graduate studies in the international relations, government, and economic spheres. He also continues part time clinical emergency work over weekends on the Gold Coast, Queensland, undertakes frequent travel overseas for business development, and enjoys regular sport and exercise.

Chief Technical Officer

Robert is the founder of PlusComms and is in charge of the day-to-day operation of the company.

Robert Brand is one of Australia’s leading communications specialists with a long background in telecommunications and internet services. His achievements in this field include the creation of a successful ISP in Australia, Connect International Australia, and the creation of Telstra’s MessageBank system.

Robert was the Regulatory Manager at Alcatel for Australia and New Zealand, a position where he achieved a great understanding of the telecommunications industry and its relevant systems. He was heavily involved with the creation of a number of world first projects such as Australia’s Number Portability and the lost and stolen phone blocking project.

Robert has been active in building voice messaging systems and telephone switching systems. We has also built a telco billing system that was operational for 20 years  He has in depth experience of the complexities surrounding telephony applications using PSTN and VOIP.

Robert is a past board member of the Australian Computer Society Communications Group, overseeing standards development and industry accreditation and has worked at the highest levels of the telephony industry. Other awards include support for NASA’s space shuttle program and the Computer Society of Australia

AlexAlexander Lorenz

Chief Financial Officer

Originally from Munich, Germany, Alex has a decade of experience in the finance and investment sector.

Until recently he worked in a fund management business in Hong Kong, analyzing and implementing real state and private equity investments across Asia.

Alex also worked for several years at UBS Wealth Management in Zurich and Hong Kong in various business and portfolio management functions.

In 2010 Alex founded together with Vincent Braniff Europos Medical, a medical device distribution business based out of Hong Kong and operational in a variety of Australasian markets. Alex overlooks this business in a managerial role.

Alex holds an MBA from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and has been living in Hong Kong for the past six years, while maintaining strong networks across Europe.

 

Najam Riza B.Tech (Civil Engg) AffMASCE AIE

Najam graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and commenced his career in 2001 with the URS Corporation in the Middle East.  He developed a strong reputation in the South Asian and Middle East Telecommunications Sector as co-founder and director at Xingular Telecom Projects to serve the Indian, Bangladeshi, UAE and Saudi Arabian markets.

Najam and his team introduced a highly competitive business model that proved successful in extremely competitive and adverse Indian and Middle East market conditions. They provided uncompromising best practice, managed services, and turnkey solutions to global and regional clientele operating in the telecoms market, including the top players in the Middle East and South Asia.

Najam has played significant roles in disaster management rollout, mitigation, rehabilitation and remediation, and other construction projects in Australia and abroad for clients such as Westfield Design and Construction, UGL, and Westpac Banking Corporation. Furthermore, he is an expert-level trainer in key Project Management functions such as tendering, procurement, negotiation, design coordination and contracts administration.

Operations Engineer

Alex is an electrical engineer with experience in project management, electronics, and communications systems. He has strong interest in the possibilities offered by technology to enhance society and improve people’s quality of life.

He previously worked at SKM Consulting, a leading project engineering firm, on a variety of large projects within the mining, power and transport sectors. Alex achieved capital cost savings for clients, exploring technical solutions to conveyer belt issues, and producing technical drawings for telecommunications solutions.

Since that time Alex has worked at PlusComms in a similar role, whilst pursuing his electronics and web services interests. Alex is experienced in horizontal scalability of software systems to ensure great outcomes and can develop Ruby on Rails applications.
